Cryptocurrency News Today – Headlines for January 14

  • Twitter to add a tipping function on its platform.
  • Bitcoin might be integrated into the platform.
  • Bitcoin still lacking in terms of adoption.

Cryptocurrency news Today – according to multiple sources, Twitter may be looking to include a tipping function in its social network. This comes as a positive news for the popular social media network. Considering CEO Jack Dorsey’s continued appraisals of Bitcoin, we may not be surprised if a Twitter tipping service did not integrate the leading cryptocurrency. Even though the Bitcoin network has been operational for more than a decade at nearly 100%, there is still the issue of real Bitcoin adoption lacking for the digital asset.

For a section of experts, digital assets will continue to be a niche of interest until it gets integrated by a big existing platform in a way that many users will experience notable differences by making use of the financial and tech innovation ahead of the remaining traditional options. Whatever the case, Dorsey’s obsession with Bitcoin will have a role to play.

The Possibility of Twitter Integrating Bitcoin Tipping

Per the report, Twitter might be considering a new feature that will give users the option to tip each other. According to people familiar with the company’s decision-making process, whether there will be any Twitter tipping feature that would integrate Square remains to be seen. Dorsey who is also CEO of Square hasn’t been shy of his love of Bitcoin in recent years. Recall an earlier report when the Twitter chief opined that one day, Bitcoin will be the internet’s currency, Square will integrate crypto payments, and he will be stacking sats.

Perhaps the most obvious reason for the interest of the Square CEO is the fact that he has been a big investor in the Lightning Network (Bitcoin’s micropayments solution). Also, he once tweeted his support for the developers who were working on a Lightning tipping software for his social network.

Evidence Shows That Dorsey will want to Integrate BTC

Dorsey is a big fan of the leading coin and has interests in the Lightning Network. He has remarked that it is BTC’s pure decentralization, anonymous creation and gradual rise to prominence with no backing from any company that makes it stand out.

According to Dorsey, this is the first and most dominant crypto making it well suited to be the internet’s native currency. It is safe to say that Dorsey would inevitably integrate Bitcoin into Twitter. Even though this hasn’t been confirmed, we shouldn’t be surprised to see Dorsey merge his business with Bitcoin.
