Tron News Today – Headlines for February 11

  • Peter McCormack calls Tron a stupid shitcoin
  • McCormack’s criticism of Tron has sparked controversy
  • Calling Tron a shitcoin is McCormack’s response to Sun

Tron News Today – Tron has once again made headlines for the wrong reasons after popular digital currency podcast host, Peter McCormack revealed to his 75,000 Twitter followers his opinion about the Tron protocol. Per the report, McCormack can be heard calling Tron a shitcoin.

As inflammatory as his comments may sound, his declaration appears to echo a similar opinion that was originally shared by Justin Sun, the founder of Tron himself. In a video that was posted by McCormack, the podcast host can be seen sitting next to Sun in what appears to be a makeshift interview during an unknown event. The video has now gone viral after getting over 280,000 views.

When Asked About Tron’s Validity as a Coin Sun Says, Shitcoin

The founder of Tron was asked about the validity of his protocol (that is whether Tron is a valid token or a shit coin), the answer Sun gave to that question was shitcoin. Sun ends up laughing with podcast host McCormack after calling his coin a shitcoin. At the start of the 30 seconds video, Sun can also be heard saying:

Buy my shitcoin.”

The video which has sparked plenty of outrage among the Tron crypto community on Twitter is currently trending. While many of the people appear to find Sun’s words funny and entertaining to the point of calling him an honest scammer, others think McCormack shouldn’t have posted it at all on Twitter. Because Sun appeared drunk and looked inebriated. One of the users suggested that Sun was likely drunk and making a joke and McCormack made the most of the situation by taking advantage regardless.

McCormack Didn’t Care About Dissenting Opinions

Not concerned about dissenting opinions, McCormack went on repeat Sun’s words and fire back. For some of the Tron community on Twitter, the whole affair is just a marketing strategy to give Tron’s token more popularity and spur an influx into Tron’s coffers. However, McCormack appeared to be dismissing such claims. He spoke against claims that suggest that he had received a heads up from Sun and some type of remuneration for his actions. Others thought it was publicity promoted on the eve of McCormack’s upcoming episode on his podcast.

So to set the record straight, McCormack made this tweet:

Tron is a shitcoin. Justin is not coming to the show. He hasn’t leased me a private jet. He has admitted on camera that his protocol is shit. The goal has been achieved.”
