Cardano News Update – The launch of the Cardano Shelley mainnet may dare the dominance of Ethereum 2.0 as the most projected release of 2020. The mainnet is currently a step closer to realization. Confirming the news of the release of the Ouroboros Byzantine Fault Tolerance (OBFT) consensus protocol was Tim Harrison, the marketing and communications director at Cardano.

Ouroboros is the agreement protocol, “the algorithm that sits behind Cardano’s capability as a decentralized proof-of-stake platform.” Ouroboros BFT has been executed as a link by the developers as a “stepping stone in compatibility (…) to enable the evolution of Cardano on the Byron era, with its federated blockchain, to the decentralized Shelley era.”
