- Product Managers At IOHK Say The Cardano Shelley Incentivized Testnet Was A Major Success.
- Byron Reboot Has Paved the way for Shelley Mainnet Launch
Cardano News Today – The Cardano Shelley testnet, which was activated last year, has been followed by many other major upgrades to the Cardano blockchain. The goal of the upgrade was to make the platform better and make sure that everything is in place for the Cardano Shelley mainnet launch. According to the product manager at IOHK, the Cardano Shelley Incentivized Testnet has been a major success.
Cardano News Now – Cardano Shelley Testnet Was A Success And the Mainnet Will Be Too
According to the Cardano development team, more than 1000 staking pools have been added to the network and more than 38% of the total ADA in circulation has been delegated. The testnet has done better than anyone anticipated according to last week’s version of the monthly update by the product management team. It was a detailed report about the latest changes that have been made to the Cardano blockchain and the upcoming Cardano Shelley Mainnet.
The product director of the IOHK team, Aparna Jue, said that the success of the Cardano Shelley Incentivized Testnet reflected the hard work of the development team and the valuable feedback from the Cardano community. They have been able to use the feedback to improve the upcoming mainnet and answer questions about the network. They are now working on introducing methods of communication within pool operators and eliminating bad behavior on the network.
Byron Reboot Has Paved the way for Shelley Mainnet Launch
Meanwhile, the latest upgrade on the Cardano blockchain, the Byron reboot, has paved the way for the long-awaited Cardano Shelley mainnet launch. While everything else that has been done over the last few months was geared toward the Cardano Shelley upgrade, none of them would have happened without the Byron reboot. This is because up to 80% of the upcoming Shelley code is Byron code making or the foundation upon which Cardano Shelley will be built.
According to the report, Shelley will be released as scheduled because the development team has already performed its property-based testing. All that is left is integration, systematic testing, and quality assurance. As soon as everything is complete, Shelley will be open for all in the Cardano community to use. In the next few weeks, stakeholders and pool operators will start testing with permission from IOHK. Before the end of the year, the Cardano Shelley Mainnet launch should be complete. If all the promises are true, this would make the blockchain 100% decentralized.
