- Charles Hoskinson Openly Declares War on Ethereum as Cardano Celebrates 3rd Anniversary
- Thanks to the Shelley Hardfork and the upcoming Goguen, Cardano Might Have What it Takes to Overtake Ethereum
Cardano News Today – Cardano was tagged “Ethereum Killer” when it was created just like Noe and other decentralized computers. However, out of all the other so-called Ethereum Killer, Cardano is the only blockchain that has what it takes to beat Ethereum. As they celebrate their 3rd anniversary, the co-founder of Cardano, Charles Hoskinson, has openly declared war on Ethereum. Even if Hoskinson co-founded Ethereum before he moved on to the Cardano project, he has always favored Cardano over Ethereum. On more than one occasion, the renowned developer has made this clear. The celebration has come amid several positive developments on the Cardano network.
Cardano News Today – Cardano has What it Takes to Overtake Ethereum
As Cardano celebrated their 3rd anniversary, they noted that they have more than 2500 developers working on 100 projects on the Cardano blockchain. The successful implementation of Cardano Shelley started the move from the PoW consensus mechanism to Proof-of-Stake. Ethereum has promised to release the 2.0 version of their blockchain soon but Cardano has beaten them to it. This is why Hoskinson and every other member of the community are excited about the progress they have made so far. According to Hoskinson, the celebration to mark the anniversary was supposed to happen in Mongolia, Kyoto, or any other country outside the United States. Unfortunately, the Coronavirus pandemic didn’t allow them to make travel arrangements. In his words;
“The community has gone up in size so dramatically, it’s unbelievable, I think we quadrupled. There are as many as seven times more transactions daily today, then there were on the second anniversary. Shelley has shipped. There are 1200+ registered stake pools, more than a third is decentralized and just in a few short months, it will be one hundred percent.”
Cardano (ADA) Price Today – ADA / USD
He said that they are still on track to release Goguen before the end of the year. As can be seen from the successful Shelley hardfork, the Coronavirus hasn’t stopped them from moving forward with developments. He continued;
“We are on the road to Goguen. Things are moving along well there. And liquidity on over 30 exchanges, with worth half to a billion dollars of trading volume every single day. There are hundreds of projects that want to be on Cardano. […] 2500 people are currently participating in 500 concepts in 100 distinct ideas […] More than half of all ADA in the ecosystem is delegated.”
Hoskinson said that Cardano has many of the same functions as Ethereum and will be able to deploy smart contracts after the successful migration to Goguen. When this happens, Cardano will have what it takes to be a true Ethereum Killer.
