- The BitTorrent X ecosystem will include 4 protocols that link it with DLive
Tron News Today – In a new report, CEO of Tron, Justin Sun has revealed that there will be several changes to another protocol owned by Tron, BitTorrent. After revealing Tron had bought the e-sports platform DLive, Sun went on to announce the creation of a new ecosystem known as BitTorrent X. The purpose of BitTorrent X will be to host BitTorrent-related services in a single place. The platform will leverage BTT as its native token. Sun had this to say:
“BitTorrent X represents the transformation of the BitTorrent ecosystem, a peer-to-peer service from a software firm into a conglomerate of data protocols, decentralized storage, and content distribution platforms.”
The Tron chief also highlighted how BitTorrent began operating as a data transfer protocol that is now been used by over 2 billion people, including Twitter, Facebook, and Blizzard.
The BitTorrent X, DLive and YouTube Controversy
Due to the features of the protocol, it is regarded as a precursor of decentralization. Sun said:
“After acquiring BitTorrent in 2018, it has carried on its business while exploring additional ways to collaborate with cryptos and bring mass adoption to the Blockchain sector.”
BitTorrent X’s creation marks the start of a new era for BitTorrent. Sun expects BitTorrent X to become a next-generation place for decentralized data storage. The new BitTorrent X will include the following protocols: BitTorrent, BitTorrent File System, and DLive:
“In one big move, BitTorrent X will drive Blockchain-powered tools to countless devices. Many users will gain access to next-generation tools to share, store, and stream content to anyone via the web directly.”
Tron’s Chief Will Give Additional Details During the November Event
The Tron chief is expected to offer more details of the latest development at the event in November. Meanwhile, the CEO of DLive Charles Wayne described the move as a welcomed development. He said this will give the platform a fresh start. He added that:
“We are excited to join BitTorrent as the partnership will give us more innovative solutions to reward communities and empower content creators. Together with BitTorrent’s team, we are looking forward to bringing in disruptive innovations to the cryptocurrency space, and bring more value to the global community.”
Finally, DLive, BitTorrent, and Tron created their partnership in 2019. DLive was created as a platform that rewards content creators. At the time, DLive was an option proposed by members of the crypto community as a replacement for YouTube. The firm had censored some channels and accounts that were at the time related to BTC and a host of other cryptos.
