At first, people believed it was just a tweet and would not grow into anything. However, with a closer look, it is an opportunity for both companies to establish a strong team. Charles confirmed that he wasn’t joking by adding:

“I am very serious. Tron is using a fork of Ethereum Java but they would benefit more if they use our Mantis instead.

He believes that using Java is holding Tron back that is why he suggested that the company should use Cardano’s Mantis client instead of Ethereum Java. Mantis is much better than Java according to Hoskinson.

Note that Tron is still a project in progress that is trying get independence from Ethereum. Two days after the post, Justin Sun replied:

“Thank you for your advice! Our goal is to build the best blockchain so we will consider Mantis too.”

Almost every cryptocurrency enthusiast on Twitter was in support of the idea stating that switching to Cardano’s Mantis client was the best choice for Tron. It might give Tron the full capacity to rival Ethereum.
