Skrill Introduces Cryptocurrency Trading Services

Popular online payment operator Skrill has now provided its customers with the option of instantly buying and selling with digital currencies. Skrill which was formerly known as Moneybookers announced that it has included fiat-to-cryptocurrency trading on its Skrill Wallet.

Skrill’s foray into the digital currency sector comes at a time when conventional financial service providers are looking to tap into the cryptocurrency fervor. The online payment operator will allow or the buying and selling of cryptocurrencies such as BTC, BCH, ETH, and LTC, using more than 40 supported fiat options in mere seconds. The company said it will purchase and holds the cryptocurrency in a “recognized cryptocurrency exchange.”

According to the announcement, Skrill explains that “At this stage, customers will only be able to buy and sell interests in cryptocurrency and will not be able to transfer their cryptocurrency holding to other Skrill customers or use it to transact with merchants. This service will be added in the future.” Presently, Skrill’s new digital currency trading option can be accessed in over 30 different countries such as Australia, Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Colombia, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UAE, and the UK.

Cryptocurrency Trading Made Easier with Skrill

In the next few months, the company will extend its new crypto-trading to its mobile app and Paysafe’s Neteller digital wallet, however, Skrill’s users can only buy and sell cryptocurrencies but they won’t be able to transfer their crypto assets to other users. It would seem this feature would be introduced later in the future.

The CEO of Skrill, Lorenzo Pellegrino, who is also the CEO of Netteller and Income Access, is certain that his company’s new feature will make trading with cryptocurrencies easier. He insists that: he is “confident that the ability to trade in cryptocurrencies quickly and easily through Skrill will appeal to consumers both now and in the future. We know many people want to experiment with cryptocurrency trading but don’t know where to start and we’ve made the entire process very straightforward.”
