The former Director of Engineering at Coinbase (a digital currency trading platform) and Founder of Litecoin (LTC) – Charlie Lee, recently announced that he’s to be an advisor to the Exodus smartphone of HTC. The Exodus is planned for an equinox release and it aims to be the first smartphone “devoted to decentralized security and apps.”
After producing 100 million mobile phones, the phone manufacturing firm – HTC – says that this is its attempt to “revolutionize the internet and make decentralization a reality.”
The Exodus Smartphone
The smartphone will contain a lot of features designed for digital currency cures. The firm described the device as running “the Switzerland of Protocols” in order to attain blockchain interoperability. They also added that every device will serve as a node on the networks of Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH). The mobile device will also serve as a universal wallet for every digital currency holdings of a user.
Charlie Lee’s Remark
Charlie Lee met with the Exodus team of HTC last week and he was very excited that the smartphone will support Litecoin (LTC) and Litecoin’ Lightning Network – according to Lee. The founder of Litecoin (LTC) has signed on as an advisor for the blockchain project as he believes that a secure blockchain smartphone that makes Lightning Network (LN) simple is the key to achieving massive adoption of the technology. He also added that the blockchain smartphone – Exodus, will still offer Bitcoin (BTC) natively.
Phil Chen Welcomes Charlie Lee
The Chief Crypto Officer of the HTC project – Phil Chen, publicly welcomed Charlie Lee to the project. He also said that it is a privilege for him to work with both the founder of Litecoin (LTC) and the co-founder of Lightning Lab – Elizabeth Stark.
