Zcash (ZEC) Announces the Release Date of Zcashd 2.0.0 in Its Weekly Update

On August 10, the Zcash Foundation released its weekly update on its official blog. After a three week long race that the members opted for, in order to make sure everything is running smoothly, the report released this week reveals that the team is occupied with a bunch of developments they are looking forward to releasing in the future.

According to a post by Zcash Company, Zcashd 2.0 – also known as the first Sapling compatible version – is right on track for release in a few days.  The major focus areas of the team this week are: the release of Zcashd 2.0, the rebranding of their website, Sapling, and a policy to enhance the set-up of Zcash (ZEC) meetings.

The development team has stated that the release of the update which is scheduled for Monday, August 13, 2018, has the tendency of being moved to a later date. The release of Zcashd 2.0.0 will be the first Sapling compatible release with the Sapling activation height that is hardcoded.

In addition to the announcement of Zcashd 2.0 release, the blockchain project has also announced the release of its video series known as Perspectives. Perspective is a video clippings series at the Zcon0 conference, the first-ever conference of the community.

Several members of Zcash (ZEC) community sat down to talk about their perspectives on various topics, including the governance of protocols, the forthcoming Zcash protocol upgrade, the usability of the ecosystem, privacy issues, market behavior, regulations, and the potential challenges of the ecosystem.
