Increased Adoption for Blockchain and Digital Currency

The integration of digital currency and blockchain technology into football stadiums and the football industry at large will create a new focus for the partnerships. So far, the UK-based trading platform has not disclosed much details regarding the nature of the exploration. This strategic move marks a milestone for the integration of digital currency in mainstream football.

Intermittent experiments have also come from clubs elsewhere, including Turkey, where a professional player was hired by Harunustaspor for Bitcoin back in January.

Iqbal V. Gandham – the managing director of eToro in the UK, said that “This is the first step on a long trip to the full adoption of Bitcoin (BTC) and blockchain technology by the football industry.” Also, UEFA recently confirmed that it had employed a ticketing system that utilizes blockchain technology as part of a phased rollout.
