Wirex – a digital currency payment platform based in the UK – recently announced the expansion of its digital currency wallet portfolio with the addition of a new Ethereum (ETH) wallet. The addition of Ethereum (ETH) wallet to Wirex means that the platform now supports four digital currencies – Bitcoin (BTC), Litecoin (LTC), XRP, and the recently added Ethereum (ETH).
Wirex Recently Added XRP (XRP)
The news accompanies the recent preannouncement by the firm that they are expanding their digital currency services with an XRP (XRP) wallet. As a result, Wirex became the first online payment platform that lets users trade their XRP and spend it like a fiat currency.
Now, the platform boasts of more than 900,000 users in over 130 countries, and the UK has granted the firm an e-money license.
Why Wirex Integrated Ethereum (ETH)
According to the founder of Wirex – Pavel Matveev, the verdict to integrate Ethereum (ETH) into the payment platform wasn’t a difficult one. He added that “Ethereum (ETH) is the second largest digital currency in the world after Bitcoin (BTC) – and this makes it the largest altcoin in the world – making the development of ETH wallet a top priority for the firm.

With the recent addition, Wirex users can now deposit, sell, and buy Ethereum (ETH). They can also convert it to fiat currencies, including EUR, USD, and GBP, and shop online through the Wirex Payment Card. All Ethereum (ETH) wallets can also be linked to virtual and physical VISA debit cards.
Wirex Celebrating the Launch
To celebrate the launch of the new Ethereum (ETH) wallet, Wirex in collaboration with CryptoDisrupt, want to donate 20 ether to a charity organization chosen by the online digital currency community. The nomination is scheduled to end on 11 September, while the winner will be revealed on 14 September.
