Ethereum Can Run without My Contributions Says Vitalik Buterin, As He Plans To Leave the Platform

Vitalik Buterin, the creator of Ethereum (ETH), said that the blockchain project can run without his contributions. The creator of the second largest digital currency in the world said this during a debate on Twitter. The debate on the social media covered several issues affecting the currency. It included Buterin’s support of altcoin projects based on the blockchain of Ethereum.

Vitalik Buterin Detaches Himself from Ethereum (ETH)

Vitalik Buterin tweeted from his official Twitter account on the 4 October saying:

I think Ethereum (ETH) can absolutely survive me spontaneously combusting tomorrow at this point.”

According to his Twitter post, he said he has already started the process of detaching himself from Ethereum. Buterin said a lot of the research is being carried out by experts. Some include @dannyryan, @drakefjustin, @icebearhww, and others. This means that even if he leaves today, the blockchain project would still run smoothly. However, he has not officially stated when he would leave the blockchain project.

Testing for Constantinople Is Being Delayed

Constantinople is the much-awaited system-wide upgrade of Ethereum (ETH). According to an announcement by the core Devs of Ethereum, there is a slight delay in the launch of Constantinople. The delay was announced on October 4th by the team lead at the Foundation, Peter Szilagyi. Szilagyi said they found a susceptibility in one of the five Constantinople upgrades.

He said the delay will give clients more time to address that vulnerability. Chances are a network split might occur after the implementation of Constantinople. Szilagyi said the delay would also give Ropsten users more time to prepare for the split.

Constantinople’s New Release Date

According to the announcement, the launch of Constantinople on Ropsten is now scheduled for Oct. 14th. As agreed by the testnet users and core developers, the estimated block for the launch is 4.23 million.
