With bitcoin trading above $6,400, here are the most outrageous predictions of the digital currency price.

Bitcoin price predictions

The most prominent names in the digital currency world are the Winklevoss twins, Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss. They were enriched by a multi-million dollar settlement from Facebook. They claimed that Mark Zuckerberg, their former college buddy stole some of their ideas for the site.

The brothers became famous as the earliest adopters of the digital currency. At the beginning of the year, the pair predicted that BTC would go as high as $320,000.

The CNBC personality, Jim Cramer as well as cybersecurity guru John McAfee also aligned with this prediction and said that BTC could go as high as one million dollars. The latter’s call is more disturbing because it came with a caveat from NSFW.

Other predictions for the next three years

Other BTC bulls include Tom Lee of Fundstrat Global Advisors. They believe that the cryptocurrency will reach $25,000 before the end of the year. It could surge to $125,000 by 2022.

Tim Draper of Draper Associates also predicted that bitcoin price would rise to $250,000 by 2022. The California based venture capitalist previously purchased bitcoins seized in the crackdown of Silk Road.

Other people such as Kenneth Rogoff and Joseph Stiglitz wen a different way and predicted that bitcoin would be worth $100 by 2028. They cited overregulation as the reason for their outrageous prediction.

However, after a shocking end to last year’s price surge and the first months this year, the digital currency has been trading between $6,000 and $8,000. Volatility is at an all-time low; a rise may be expected soon.
