Hackers Release Layer 1 of “Implicating” 9/11 Papers

A hacker group known as “thedarkoverlord” has been threatening to release implicating documents relating to the 9/11 terrorist attack unless they get a Bitcoin ransom. They are demanding a huge amount of money as ransom. They want about $2 million in Bitcoin (BTC) to either release or withhold the alleged implicating documents. The cybercriminals claim to have hacked a number of insurance companies making away with confidential information about the events of the 9/11 terrorist attack.

Hiscox Spokesperson: Hackers Were Able to Gain Access to Confidential Documents

According to a previous report by CCN about thedarkoverlord hacker group a spokesperson for the Hiscox Group confirmed news of the hack. The company representative said hackers were able to gain access to confidential files from a law firm that worked with the company. They may have made away with litigation files related to the 9/11 terrorist attack.

Twitter suspended the hackers account following the ordeal. They eventually moved to Steemit. Since the initial announcement by the hackers, they have gotten at least 3 Bitcoins from the public which made them release the first “level” of the documents and other checkpoints.

The Group Claim They are Only Interested in the Money

The hackers have explicitly stated that they are not interested in the truth about the terrorist attacks. They only care about getting paid and have a preference for payment instead of public release.

According to the group:

Consider our motivations; we are not inclined to release the truth to the public unless we’re not paid in full. Which is why to facilitate public awareness and transparency, we are officially announcing our compensation plan. We will announce the cost of releasing each layer of the implicating documents filled with new truths that have never been seen before.”

From the hackers payment plan, we can find several “checkpoints” along the way. And since they have received 3 BTC from the public already, a couple of checkpoints beyond the layer 1 have been reached, and the said documents have been released.

Is This an Avenue to Take Advantage of the 9/11 Truth Seekers?

For the 9/11 truth-seekers, this may seem like an interesting story. A vast number of Americans and others don’t believe the official 9/11 terrorist attack story, which is why the papers are of interest to many groups. The entire world was shocked by the terrorist attack that hit New York City and Washington DC.

Prior to the attack, you could travel in and out of the country easily. You could travel to Canada or Mexico with no passport. The terrorist attack resulted in the founding of the TSA. Additionally, the USA PATRIOT Act came as a result of the attack and allowed the warrantless wiretapping of US citizens.

As of January 4, the hackers have announced the unlocking of the first layer after receiving 3 Bitcoins from the public. It is safe to say that at this point in American history, no one can actually tell what the full impact of releasing knowledge of the 9/11 terrorist attack on the society. However, institutions and people must adapt to the change in climate.
