EOS Still Far Ahead of TRON – Weiss Rating, Cites DApp Usage

EOS and TRON are the two main projects that come to mind when there’s a mention of decentralized application (DApps) platforms. The two projects often referred to as “Ethereum killers” now controls the most active DApps, clearly overtaking Ethereum.

Earlier this month, TRON’s enigmatic CEO Justin Sun, in his usual controversial manner, called out ethereum for lagging behind in the DApps space as he announced that his platform controlled some of the top 10 DApps citing data from DApp tracker Dapp Radar.

While TRON is known for superb marketing championed by Sun, EOS seems to be the platform that deserves more accolades as regards DApp usage. It is quietly garnering DApp users on its platform and Weiss has taken note of that.

Weiss is a popular traditional provider of independent, ratings of Stocks, Mutual Funds, ETFs, Financial Institutions, and more recently Cryptocurrencies. The firm, in a tweet, noted that EOS is leading TRON in the race for DApp leadership.

Weiss wrote:

”#EOS has a #dApp called Dice, and it’s beating another dApp, #TronBet by about 60% in volume and 30% in transactions. People shilling #TRON need to understand that EOS is still way ahead.”

EOS rated Highly by Established ranking Organizations

EOS project has remained favored by Weiss Ratings and notable blockchain rating organizations. As reported, since the May 2018 edition of its monthly cryptocurrency rating, Weiss always had good words for EOS. Last May, EOS was given the highest ranking of all other 93 coins ranked that month. Along with Cardano (ADA) and Decred (DCR), EOS was given a B rating; ratings are based on security, investment risk and reward, technology and adoption, governance, and privacy.

In its New Year predictions, Weiss once again expressed its confidence in EOS stating that the projects along with Cardano (ADA) and Holochain (HOT) will be the first to build a new type of internet often referred to as the Web 3.0.

As Reported, the monthly blockchain index released by China’s Center for Information Industry Development (CCID) also rates EOS highly. Since the second half of last year when it was introduced to the rankings, EOS has always topped the rankings. In the January edition of China blockchain rating, as reported by Smartereum, EOS (EOS) was ranked as number one, followed by Ethereum. Bitcoin (BTC) and Ripple’s XRP were ranked 15th and 20th respectively.

TRON can win with BitTorrent (BTT)

TRON may still win in the DApp space in the long run, particularly due to its acquisition of peer-to-peer file sharing network BitTorrent which has over 200 million users. BitTorrent token (BTT) raked in 7 million in a public sale in less than 15 minutes. Sun says he hopes to attract users to use cryptocurrency through BitTorrent.
