Bitcoin was invented about ten years ago by the anonymous Satoshi Nakamoto. At the time, many who believed that Bitcoin and the underlying blockchain technology was going to change the world started investing in it. A lot has happened over the last ten years. The last bearish market sent a lot of people away from the market as they believed that was the end of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. However, the CEO of the largest cryptocurrency exchange per trading volume, Binance, Changpeng Zhao, has said that the world is still at the beginning of the beginning of the Bitcoin revolution.

Changpeng Zhao has been one of the main influencers of Bitcoin and the cryptocurrency industry as a whole. Even with the current state of the market, the Bitcoin billionaire still believes that the best is yet to come. On Twitter, Zhao said:

This was in response to a user who said that he wished he had joined the Bitcoin train in 2013 when the technology was still in its early stages. At that time, BTC was trading between $13 and $947. Since then, BTC has gotten to an all time high of almost $20,000. Even if the flagship cryptocurrency is still significantly lower than its all time high, it is still significantly higher than the 2013 levels.
Zhao said that he felt the same way in 2013 when he wished he had jumped on the train earlier. In his words:
“In 2013, I said: damn, I am too late. I wish I started early like other guys. I used to say the same thing I heard back then. We are still early, the beginning of the beginning.”
Erik Voorhees Congratulates Changpeng Zhao
The conversation on Twitter started after Erik Voorhees, the CEO of ShapeShift, commended Zhao for the success of his cryptocurrency exchange, Binance. In Voorhees’ words:
“One cannot help but be inspired and impressed by the incredible success Binance has been able to achieve over the past year and half. CZ Binance, it has been awesome watching your ascent. Keep up the good development.”
In reply, Zhao said that meeting Erik Voorhees in the year 2013 was inspiring and was a turning point in his career.
ShapeShift suffered a lot during the 2018 bear market. In fact, the exchange had to let go of one-third of its staff in January. In a press release, Erik Voorhees accepted responsibility for the state of the company staying that risks are part of his job.
Binance, on the other hand, was survived the storm without significant casualties. Zhao said that he believes his company will still be here in the next 100 years. In his words:
“Binance is ready to survive many more years whether its a bull run or a bear run. We are targeting more than another year. We are aiming for the next 10, 50 and even 100 years. So, we will be here for a while. As soon as I learned about how cryptocurrencies work, I knew that was the future.”
