Cryptocurrency Enthusiasts Enjoy Paying Bitcoin (BTC) To Send Cosmic Messages Through Blockstream

The launch of Blockstream satellite last year, has made it easy for people to communicate through space. This peculiar project allows people to use bitcoin without internet access. Since spacebit.live came into existence, sending messages is easier than usual. With a token fee of 3 cents in testnet bitcoin per message, users can transfer information through these satellites across the globe.

This latest innovation in the use of bitcoin resulted in the space being used as a means of sending “message in a bottle.” This communication system seems like a recreation of the ancient method of sending messages across oceans and seas. You never know the final destination or who will read it. However, the cosmic message can reach millions of people across the world.

It is easy to spread information across the globe through space. Just type your message and pay a few cents in bitcoin before clicking the “send” button. Your message speeds through space and then transmitted through a satellite. People at different locations can receive the message. Research on this cosmic message can be interesting.

Understanding The Technology

Grubles, a Twitter and Blockstream satellite user, tweets regularly about this new technology. This user retrieved messages from an unknown person’s diary. The contents of the journal revealed the whimsical thoughts of the sender concerning broadcasting messages via satellites. The sender who quitted his job plans to live on his savings. The person is building a pi lightning node for sending cosmic messages through satellites but feels that the project is strange.

The sender sent another message the next day to clear his doubts about this emerging technology. He inquired if anybody reads his message. He finds it difficult to believe that the information he broadcasts reaches an extensive area on the Earth. Surprisingly, the sender received many replies. This reaction indicated that many people are using this communication technology.

Among the messages received by the owner of the diary is a meaningless note signed by Dandarkpill, a popular Twitter user. However, the owner of this handle had left the social media platform. The coded message implied that Dandarkpill intends to return to the network. He opted to reveal his intentions via satellite.

MediumSqueeze, the pseudonymous, Spacebit.live creator, doubts the credibility of the message tagged Dandarkpill. He pointed out that the message may have been sent from the “memecave.” However, he is optimistic that the message is a signal that the Twitter user is in good health. He hopes that this “fallen soldier” of the social media site will return to the platform some day.

What The Future Holds

The technology of sending messages through space is still on its testnet stage. However, Blockstream’s website has seen many messages and more are expected. MediumSqueeze is optimistic that real bitcoin will soon be used with this site when it upgrades to bitcoin’s live network.

An update of the Blockstream software released in December has a new application programming interface (API). This feature allows people to send messages through their satellites. A user can send a message after paying a fee in lightning, a new payment system on bitcoin. The data required by the message determines the amount to be paid.

This system is still on trial but people are willing to use it. However, some developers believe that this technology can give way to new innovations.
