The Ripple news stated that the official announcement from Ripple will be made between the 11th to 13th of June in the CIAB Febraban Fintech and banking event that is scheduled to take place in São Paulo. The report also stated that Luiz Antonio Sacco would lead the new office. Sacco used to be the CEO of one of the subsidiaries of The Warranty Group.
Sacco joined Ripple a few months ago in March. At the time, he said that Ripple is making serious plans to bring more clients to the RippleNet network so that they would use its payment protocols, xRapid and xCurrent. He said that Ripple’s expansion plans aren’t limited to Brazil. The company intends to open different offices across the South American continent.
Right now, three major financial institutions in Brazil have joined the RippleNet network. These companies are Banco Rendimento, BeeTech Global, and Santander Brasil. It’s only a matter of time until more financial institutions within the country adopt Ripple’s protocol. This is going to create more awareness for Ripple and in extension, XRP.
Ripple’s plans for Brazil and the rest of South America goes beyond launching its payment protocols and increasing adoption. The company is also going to start hosting education programs to create more awareness about cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology.
