Stellar Lumens And IBM Collaboration May Have Come To An End, What Does This Mean For The Future Of Stellar?

Stellar Lumens News Today – The partnership between Stellar Lumens and IBM was supposed to be vehicle that would drive Stellar and the Stellar Lumens XLM token into mass adoption. At the time, when IBM announced that it would be using the Stellar blockchain for its World Wire project, the price of the XLM token surged significantly against the USD. Everyone in the cryptocurrency space was talking about how this collaboration will affect Stellar Lumens in the future. However, the latest Stellar Lumens news is that the collaboration between IBM and Stellar may have come to an unexpected end. If the rumors are true, what does this mean for the Stellar network? Will it affect the Stellar Lumens price prediction 2019?

Stellar Lumens News Today – Stellar Lumens Latest Update – Stellar Lumens And IBM Will No Longer Team Up?

You see the current cross-border remittance system is flawed. Sending money from one part of the world to another isn’t just expensive but it is also slow. IBM was going leverage the speed and efficiency of Stellar’s blockchain to provide a system that solves these problems. The World Wire project would allow people to transfer funds from one part of the world to another swiftly and efficiently at almost no cost. One of the executives at IBM, Jesse Lund, announced the partnership earlier in the year. In his words;

“Users will be able to send transactions from anywhere in the world to any corner of the world. This new operation is supposed to be as simple as sending an email.”

However, Jesse Lund, the Vice President at IBM recently left the company and its possible that the partnership between IBM and Stellar may have been put to an end with his exit. Taking to Twitter, Michael Arrington said;

“This article about @IBM CTO Stanley Yong, and the article veers off into a complete dismantling of the Stellar/IBM partnership. Based on what I’m reading, that partnership is dead in the water now. We need more articles on this. https://modernconsensus.com/people/exclusive-stanley-yong-ibm-cto-departs-big-blue/.”

Right now, the company hasn’t given any details about the future of the partnership between IBM and Stellar. However, things are looking bleak. If it is true, the network is going to miss out on an opportunity to gain mass adoption through IBM. Lund isn’t the only one who is leaving IBM. Another executive, Stanley Young will also be leaving IBM. There is a strong possibility that the World Wire project might be scrapped if the new executives don’t like it.
