Litecoin Debit Card, BlockCard, Will Be Available in Q4 This Year
Ternio recently announced the release date of the LTC debit card in the United Kingdom. Ternio disclosed the release date as a reply to the enthusiastic LTC community. The firm said that the LTC debit card is scheduled to happen in the fourth quarter of this year in the UK. The Litecoin Foundation announced its partnership with two top players of the digital currency market – Ternio and Bibox – in June this year.
Since then, they have been working together to develop a debit card that will allow Litecoin holders to spend their favorite coin, LTC. The coins of the two partners (TERN and BIX) will also be integrated into the card. LTC, BIX, and TERN users can use the card on both online and in brick-and-mortar stores. According to the announcement of the firm, cardholders can use it for settlements at any point-of-sale that accepts regular cards of global payment service providers. Bibox – which is a crypto trading platform – will provide Litecoin (LTC) cardholders with custody service.
BlockCard Would Be Going Live First in the UK
According to other sources, users can also spend Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) with the card. According to the initial plan of the firms, the LTC debit card would first go live in the US before it gets to other countries. However, Ternio recently revealed that the LTC debit card would be happening in the UK in Q4 this year. The creator of Litecoin (LTC) – Charlie Lee – commented on the announcement saying:
“The new partnership with Ternio and Bibox would allow the Litecoin Foundation to help people use LTC on a daily basis.”
The Litecoin (LTC) community is really excited about this development, and they welcomed it with open arm. They believe this might help to boost the price of their favorite coin – LTC.
