Blockchain technology has long moved from the technology underpinning bitcoin to a just about the most revolutionary emerging technology. Major drivers for the growth of the blockchain space are blockchain meet-ups and exhibitions, one of which is the notable Blockchain Connect Conference.

SV Insights, host of the Blockchain Connect Conference have announced the date and theme for the next conference as well as expected speakers. The event which is slated for January next year has been themed “Academic” will explore the academic input towards blockchain advancements.

While the previous editions of the conference have featured notable professors involved with blockchains and cryptography, this upcoming conference will focus on the academic aspects of blockchain development.

Conference Details

The Blockchain Connect Conference – Academic will take place on January 11th, 2019 at San Francisco Marriott Marquis. The event and exhibitions will follow two tracks –academic and business tracks respectively.

The event will entertain over 40 speakers and panelists from the academic and blockchain field. The organizers explained that the conference will “gather the most authoritative blockchain professors around the world, the public chain projects with the most advanced technology, and technical experts, to discuss about the most cutting-edge blockchain academic research, problems, and solutions.”

Some confirmed speakers for the event include Dawn Song (Professor at UC Berkely and Co-founder of Oasis, EECS), Shoucheng Zhang (Professor at Stanford and Chairman of DHVC), Elaine Shi (Professor at Cornell University and Co-founder of IC3 and Thunder Token) and Jeremy Gardener (Co-founder of Augur and Investor of Blockchain Capital). Past Blockchain Connect Conferences

The conference slated for January 2019 will be the third in a series of very successful blockchain meet-ups organized by SV Insights.

The inaugural edition which held on January 26th was themed “Blockchain Technology Evolution in US and China” brought in blockchain pioneers and heavyweights including Charlie Lee, Hongfei Da, and Jack Lu founders of Litecoin, NEO and Wanchain respectively as well as Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse and notable Crypto investor Tim Drapper.

The second installment of the event titled “Silicon Valley 2018 – Catch the Next Crypto Unicorn” featured over a thousand thought leaders in the crypto and Investment spheres. Among its list of speakers were Daeje Chin, Former Samsung CEO and incumbent President of Korean Blockchain Association; Jeffery Wernick major investor at Investor of Airbnb & Uber and Advisor of Qtum, Bobby Lee Co-Founder of BTCC and Board Member of Bitcoin Foundation.

Past events have also featured founders and top executives from within and outside the crypto community including those from Qtum, Ripple, BTCC, Onchain Capital, Binance, Huobi, OKCoin, TechCrunch, Coinbase, Nissan, LinkedIn, Coinone, Consensys and HBUS.
